ARRL Field Day - June 25, 2016

Club members will meet at LNR Precision (next door to Paw-Paw’s Place, corner of Central Ave. and N. Fayetteville St.) starting at 10:00 AM for hanging antennas and setting up stations with actual on-air activity beginning about 2:00 PM. Operations will continue for four (or perhaps more) hours. This is your chance to experience amateur radio for the first time; try some mild contesting; meet old, or new, friends; or maybe just spend an afternoon on the air. We will have multiple stations operating and anyone of any age is welcome to operate one of them; experienced hams will be available to help you with the whole “contest” thing. We are a kid-friendly group and welcome the opportunity to introduce you and your (grand) kids to ham radio. Small groups with a responsible adult are also welcome to join in the fun. If you are interested in radio communications this is your chance to experience on-air operating with a guide, have your questions answered, and find out how to become a radio amateur. For more information contact Butch, WS4H at 336-381-4584 or butch@atomic.net.
